i was putting off the windshield fairing because it looked like a pain in the ass. laying the fiberglass wasn’t too bad. the really time consuming part was cutting all the strips to the appropriate lengths and widths. not too many pictures of the laying of the fiberglass. too busy. overall, it came out ok. i used some toner to blacken the epoxy. after the layers had cured, i squeegied some thickened blackened epoxy over the transition to make it smoother. now i just have to sand. hee hee. sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand sand dnan dsand dan dnand sadn. weeee! building an airplane would make me nuttier than a jar of peanut butter if there weren’t other tasks that i could move on to just to break it up. funniest comment on the matronics email list lately is from a conversation about the quality of vans’ fiberglass parts. “i wouldn’t know the state of the art if i sanded right through it”. anyway, the windshield fairing is to be continued....
