We worked all weekend on the tanks, and got most of the pre-assembly done. it was just a bunch of match drilling, clecoing, and deburring.

After all that, we were all ready to go riveting, but i forgot that i hadn't sorted out the fuel gauge senders yet. i'm unwilling to go with the traditional floats, but Vans doesn't offer capacitive senders for the RV-10, so i had to figure something else out. Dammit, it's 2006, and there's got to be a better way than floats. i want something accurate, and with no moving parts, that i can actually believe. Most airplanes i fly might as well have no fuel gauge at all. worthless. crap. After much deliberation, i decided to go with skysports capacitive senders. they'll make you just about anything you want, and it should really work. The woman i spoke with on the phone was super helpful, and really knew her stuff. The only lame thing was that the lead time on the custom senders is 2-3 weeks! no good for someone as impatient as me. hehe... oh well, we'll move on to something else. crap.
