So it seems that the “per plans” way of doing the door latch has a plastic type guide in the door frame, and you have to be a bit careful when latching the door to make sure the door pins are engaged. From what I hear, the rear pin can miss the guide and if you take off with it that way, the door will depart the aircraft. Windy. Also, if the pin misses the guide, it’ll scratch the paint. Can’t have that. Nope. So Rivethead came up with these aluminum door guides and pins that you use instead of the plastic ones. So anyway, I made up a little drilling template and got down to business. Not too big of a deal, and now the doors open and close SUPER SWEET! nice.
