Dude with a truck comes over...Drops off very expensive crate.  what could it be?  well, let’s be honest.  we’re building an airplane, so it could be just about anything.  in this case though, it’s the ENGINE!!!  woohoo!   nice.  i ordered it from Aerosport power.  it’s an IO-540 with fuel injection, one slick mag, one lightspeed ignition.  standard compression, standard pretty much everything else.  I had them paint it red, and i didn’t spring for the chrome valve covers.  i like the look of them, but when I was working on cars, chrome valve covers were notorious for leaking.  I’ve never heard of them being more prone to leaking on an airplane, but my brain thinks leak when i see a chrome valve cover.  can’t get over it.  plus, you know what they say.  “Chrome don’t get you home”.  anyway, super sweet.  can’t wait to hang it!  i also stuck my plenum on the top of it to see if it fit.  i think it’ll take a little shaping, but it’s plenty close enough.  cool.
