Now we've got the nutplates, and we're ready to go! i riveted the nutplates to the trim tab access plate stiffener thingy, then back riveted it to the bottom skin. then i got going with the pop rivets to get the top and bottom halves together.
Then we riveted the the counterbalance tip ribs to the elevators, and riveted the skins to the front and rear spars. one little note here - if you bought the tool kit from avery, the super special bucking bar that you NEED for this step is somewhere in your tool box. if you don't have it, you have to make it. i'm so happy to have the right tool. i was petrified about this step, but it was pretty easy. stressful, but easy.
now, the proseal. everybody cries about how proseal sucks, but i don't really mind it. i prosealed the foam ribs and the trailing edge, then clecoed the edge together and stuck a board and some weight on top to keep it tight.
time to hang it up for the night. the proseal has to cure for a couple days, so we'll have to find something to do in the mean time. i'm also kinda tired... i've been skydiving all day, and building all night.
